* Diego Forlan with my drawing!
Posted on June 19th, 2010 by Pane. Filed under Football fever.
I was so happy when I saw the picture of Diego Forlan holding the portrait I made of him!
I have to thank Yamandu for bringing the drawing down there in South Africa and taking this picture.

* World cup South Africa 2010
Posted on June 1st, 2010 by Pane. Filed under Football fever, illustration.
Here some portraits of football players I’ve done so far, I’m still working on it, getting ready in my way to the coming world cup in South Africa.
They are quickly made drawings, using an inking nib, which is a tool I’d like to master, well; maybe just fell comfortable with it. Differently as I did lately when I used charcoal, ink doesn’t give room for errors, when you do a stroke, that’s it, not going back and corrections aloud, so it improves confidence and it’s a very good exercise.

New players portraits coming during this all period of the world cup.

* Grazie Roma!

AS Roma football team did a grate job this last season, and gave to me; as I think to all Roma supporters, the opportunity to live grate moments.
With Roma this year we could joy a lots of success and cry very few tears, which I think are also moments when our faith gets stronger.
Anyway, I wanted to homage this grate year of Roma, by doing the portraits of all the players, with the spirit of grabbing just a black “thing” from my pencils case and quickly draw.
Here I just posted some of the portraits, to see it all in bigger size please visit my Flickr page.

* Luca

I’ve never thought I would have ever seen this man (Luca Toni) with Roma shirt.
I’ve always consider Toni a clumsy player, but he scores, and today against Genova he did two goals his firsts with Roma. Both of the goals have been inspired by Mirko Vucinic which on the contrary is a player with magical feet, I love the way he moves and even if he might be an attackers that doesn’t scores a lot he’s a key player in Roma attack, he’s a continuous threat for the opponents.
Roma in this last years have been a team with very skilled player that likes to play the ball, and i guess they needed a player like Toni who can balance the team with some concreteness.

* Tricky sistem to make money and something else.
Posted on December 8th, 2009 by Pane. Filed under Football fever, Other.
The other day I went to a couple of offices to do some little things. I went to the bank, and the telephone company, in both places they told me they couldn’t do anything and they gave me a telephone number to call. This system is a tricky way for them to make money on phone calls. In fact after two minutes listening to recorded voices I spent about two euros to call, and what they told me was that I had to go to their office again.
That sounds really like a trap to squeeze money, companies just bounce costumers that need help to operators at call centers.
Fortunately life is not only bureaucracy and nonsense phone calls, there’s also Roma that won Lazio in the derby!

* GREEN SCREEN

What I always liked about watching football on TV is the screen filled up with the green of the field and the little colorful player in it.

Roma- Inter 0-4
Well, What to say? Roma never show they could do something in this match and never in this season yet they show their personality, what append to the Roma of last year?
Beside the match, I’m asking my self, why do I feel so bad about it? It’s just a match, it’s what I try to say, but unconsciously most fans relate their life to their team’s results, in a way: they win; my problem gets smaller. They loose; my problem gets bigger. If so, why do I give to a team the responsibility of deciding my humor? In fact I thought many time to stop with my football passion, because it’s seems turning more into a drug addiction, like you need them to win in order to feel better. Maybe that’s how a fan it’s suppose to feel, and at present I cant do anything about it, I have to support my team, and if doesn’t go well, than; it’s just a match.
